Cote was found in the woods near his Savoy home, but investigators declined to release the cause of death. His body was turned over to the medical examiner's office for autopsy.

The 55-year-old has been missing since the early morning of June 7. Investigators had searched the woods near his 498 Chapel Road home multiple times.

Police say Cote stabbed his 49-year-old ex multiple times at her North Summer Street in Adams around 5 a.m. Paramedics rushed her to an area hospital, where she was expected to survive.

Authorities have not released any updates on her condition.

Police had said Cote was to be considered armed and dangerous and warned residents to be on the lookout for him.
